Lingfield is a village and civil parish in the Tandridge district of Surrey, England, around 23 mi (37 km) south of London. The village has a population of about 4,500 and is known for its historic buildings and its racecourse. The village dates back to the Anglo-Saxon period, when it was called Leangafeld. Several buildings date from the Tudor period, such as the Old Cage, which was used as a prison until 1882. The medieval church of St Peter and St Paul is Grade I listed and has a timber-frame structure. Lingfield Park Racecourse is a popular venue for horse racing, with both turf and all-weather tracks.

The village has two primary schools, Lingfield Primary School and Dormansland Primary School, which are both co-educational schools with a focus on academic achievement and pastoral care. Lingfield Primary School also offers a nursery class and a breakfast and after-school club.

Lingfield has plenty to offer for culture, leisure and entertainment. The village has several historic landmarks, such as Lingfield Park Racecourse, which is one of the country's busiest racecourses and hosts race meetings every month of the year, with turf, harness-racing, National Hunt, and all-weather races. The Old Cage is a 15th-century timber-framed building that was used as a prison until 1882. The Church of St Peter and St Paul is a Grade I listed medieval church with a timber-frame tower and stained glass windows.

For nature lovers, Lingfield has some of the best green spaces in Surrey, such as Lingfield Common, which is an area of common land with woodland walks, play areas and sports facilities. British Wildlife Centre, which is the best place to see and learn about Britain's own wonderful wildlife, with over 40 different species from tiny harvest mice to magnificent red deer. Godstone Farm, is a family-friendly farm with animals, play areas and activities.
